Man, how time flies.

I can pinpoint a time when sprite movies about Mario taking a gun and shooting everyone with blood everywhere was the coolest thing ever.

It was rare to see any purely original content. Now, if it isn't original, sprites are forbidden, it must be drawn very well, and if it's in an estabished series the characters must be, well, in character. The whole idea of parody is different now than it was a decade ago.

There were only 2 emoticons. Angry faic and happy faic. Now there's...what, 50? I can't look at it without seeing something mainstream, like Facebook. Don't get me wrong, popularity is good, but it also makes me feel seriously old.

This used to be a site where a few teenage kids could hang out and watch the latest Madness episode, but now Newgrounds is an established work of profession. A home of short films. Albums. Paintings.

It begs the question, is this a function of higher standards, more media acknowledgement, or just fancier tools? After all, it seems anyone can make a front page-worthy movie/game these days.

Due to the infestation of Bronies, and the sheer overwhelming amount of talent, it makes me feel worthless. All I ever did was post on the forums, but I don't even do that anymore. Unless NG becomes another social networking site, which it already seems to be, I feel like it's time to go.

Goodbye, Newgrounds. May the following years be prosperous.

Another forum reg bids farewell. This place feels more empty every day. The portal may be thriving (in terms of quality, not quantity) but the forum is one step away from life support. I was hoping the redesign would spark some more activity on the forums, but it's more lifeless than ever. Sad to see yet another leave.

I don't think NG is very mainstream. Yeah, during the redesigning (when the site was down), it felt mainstream, but everyone was excited that day.

That quote is stupid and you know it. That's like saying, " My co-worker is gay, but my job is great and pay is nice, I quit!" Yea your job may be only filing papers, but still, your helping the company. I hope that brony thing was a joke. I'm not a brony, but it's kinda stupid to leave a website because of one. NO MATTER WHAT YOU STILL PLAY A PART. You can ask to be a reviewer for the review request club. That's pretty much the only position where you might enjoy helping others getting better at their craft.
But whatever, leave.... if you want.

I see what you mean, but I don't know what I'll ever do without Newgrounds. But if you feel that there's nothing left here for you, well, end of the line, I suppose. We'll all miss you.

I'm really sad to see you leave, and I honestly can't fathom why you'd like to leave such a place like Newgrounds.

I am worthless in terms of content. I submitted some crap art, but that's it. I know I'll never get the frontpage, but the feeling of being the first to review a frontpaged flash makes up for it.

I love the forums for the people, the civilized manner, and the fact that this is the only site where people I've never met recognize me. I stay here for that.

Sure, NG could be considered mainstream in terms of aesthetics, but its history, content, and users are like no other. Newgrounds isn't a company, it's a man and his friends making a website for the people, by the people. No matter how flashy, NG will never be FB.

Also, you're one of the best VG forum regs. I'll miss you (as will others) very much.
